United Way of Kern County Announces
New Interim President and CEO 

BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 24, 2018) –United Way of Kern County’s board of directors has appointed Mari Pérez-Dowling as the Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of the organization.
Pérez-Dowling is currently the Director of Marketing and Development for United Way. Effective April 24, she will lead United Way’s efforts to build a stronger community through critical programs that focus on early literacy initiatives, attaining financial stability, and ending homelessness and hunger.
 
“We are confident that Mari will lead United Way of Kern County with passion and professionalism through this transition,” said Nikki Cross, United Way of Kern County’s Board Chair.
With more than ten years of marketing and community development experience, Ms. Pérez-Dowling brings an integral understanding of strategic planning, community outreach, nonprofit management and public relations.  “I am looking forward to serving directly the community in which I live,” said Pérez-Dowling.  “I am humbled and honored to have been appointed to take the lead of a very talented team of staff and volunteers at United Way of Kern County,” she continued.
