Resource Development Team
"I gave at the office."
Chances are, you have. United Way campaigns are conducted in almost 300
local businesses and organizations. Payroll deduction makes giving even
easier, allowing a small portion of each paycheck to be deducted and sent
to United Way.
For an employee, it
makes giving easy, and they can be assured that their dollars are being
put to use effectively and efficiently by
local
agencies.
For a business, a
United Way
campaign does several things:
- It's a great way to
support a wide variety of needs with one single gift;
-
It
provides your employees with the widest range of giving possible -
employees can allow
United Way
volunteers to invest their gift, or designate their gift to any
nonprofit organization in the world.
- It's an efficient
way to give - a campaign presentation takes about 20 minutes, and can be
incorporated into an existing staff or safety meeting;
- It's fun! Employees
working together to help their community - it builds teamwork and helps
us appreciate how fortunate we are.
Companies are learning
to work efficiently with fewer employees. Since workplace fund-raising is
how we raise millions of dollars each year, we continually need to add
more companies to our "friends list" to raise those essential dollars to
help our friends and neighbors in need.
The Resource
Development Team is the Advisory Board's team responsible for raising the
resources necessary to fund the needs of our community. The annual
campaign brings in the funding for local agencies, and represents the
ultimate team effort.
This team also is
responsible for ongoing efforts to secure in-kind contributions, such as
volunteers, donated materials and reduced rates for nonprofits, which all
help keep operating costs to a minimum.
This team focuses not
only on short-term fundraising, but also long term financial stability for
our community's nonprofit organizations.
